I like the composition of this one, and the scene. Cant help but feel that something has been lost in the lack of colour

Agreed with Pete - it's a wonderfully composed shot and a gorgeous expression on the girl's face, but some colour may have given more to this shot.

I was shooting in b&w that day (yes, film, like our grand-fathers). The advantage of black and white is that the subject is put into focus through composition only. In this case, the colors would have made the shot a mess (hat and dress didn't match for a start, I dressed her that morning...).

Simply beautiful image. Something in those b/w film shots that is not easily captured by digital.
